guest housesFamily-run guest house in the heart of Aosta's pedestrian centre, featuring spacious rooms in rustic style, complimentary minibar and an exceptional location among the city's Roman monuments.
Founded by the Romans in 25 BC as Augusta Praetoria, Aosta preserves a rectangular old town that still follows its ancient urban layout. Thanks to its wealth of monuments it is nicknamed the “Rome of the Alps”: strolling through the pedestrian streets you’ll come across the Arch of Augustus, the monumental Porta Pretoria and the 22-metre-high façade of the Roman Theatre, along with the forum cryptoporticus and the remains of the city walls.
Staying in the city means having everything within reach: monuments, museums, traditional restaurants and shops in the pedestrian heart, plus a good choice of small properties for every need, from hotels to bed & breakfasts and apartments. It is also a strategic base for exploring the region, close to the valley’s castles and connected in minutes, via cable car, to the Pila ski resort.
From Aosta you can easily reach the main Aosta Valley castles, such as Fénis and Sarre, and in winter the slopes of Pila; in summer the same area becomes a destination for hiking and mountain biking with views of Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Gran Paradiso. A destination that combines culture and mountains in every season.
