Blue Seagull Guest House is located in the heart of Chiavari, just steps from the seafront and the town’s historic centre, one of the liveliest towns on the Riviera di Levante. The area around the property is pedestrian and lively, with historic arcades, shops and venues that stay open late, especially during the summer months. Chiavari Beach is practically on the doorstep, while a short distance away are small urban parks such as Piazza Torriglia, 300 metres away, ideal for a break in the shade of the plane trees.
Chiavari railway station, on the Genoa-La Spezia line, is just 250 metres from the guest house and connects within minutes to the nearby towns of the Tigullio area, from Lavagna to Sestri Levante. Genoa-Sestri Airport is about 37 km away, reachable by car in just over forty minutes. Casa Carbone, the city’s civic museum, is 2.2 km away, while the famous Brown Castle in Portofino, with its panoramic view over the gulf, can be visited in a day trip about 8 km away.
In summer the sea is naturally the main attraction, with the possibility of walking to Chiavari Beach or reaching within a few minutes the larger beaches of Lavagna and Cavi. In the cooler months the area is well suited to walks through the alleys of the historic centre, visits to local museums and trips to the Abbey of San Fruttuoso, reachable by boat or by a scenic hike from Portofino. Nature lovers can also head towards the Punta Manara headland, about 9 km away, among coastal trails and Mediterranean scrub.
