Castello di Guarene stands in the heart of the village of the same name, on a hilltop in the Langhe overlooking the Tanaro valley, in one of Piedmont’s most celebrated wine regions, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The historic center of Guarene has developed around the 18th-century manor, with alleys, small restaurants and wine cellars just steps from the entrance: Osteria Imperfetta and Fuori dal Comune are about 150 meters away, while La Penna Nera is 250 meters away.

Alba, capital of white truffle and the Langhe, can be reached in about 12 minutes by car, while Asti is half an hour’s drive away. Those traveling by train can use Mussotto station, 3.1 km away, or Alba station, 4.6 km away, both well connected to Turin and Genoa. The nearest airport is Cuneo-Levaldigi, 37 km away, while Turin Caselle airport is about 57 km away and is useful for those arriving from outside the region.

The area is ideal for wine and food lovers: the surrounding hills are home to some of the most renowned Barolo and Barbaresco wineries, which can be visited year-round with tastings by appointment. In the autumn months, the Alba white truffle fair attracts visitors from all over Europe, while in spring and summer the paths among the vineyards are perfect for walks and bike rides. Cultural destinations in the surrounding area include Cavour Castle and the Cedar of Lebanon natural park, both about 10-12 km away, as well as the Sferisterio of Alba, an adventure park about 7 km from the castle.
