The Windschar is located just outside Brunico, at the entrance to Valle Aurina, on a large estate that brings together several Alpine-style accommodation buildings, a wellness centre and an outdoor pool. The area retains a rural and peaceful character, with the mountains of Val Pusteria closing the horizon in every direction, and the nearest local restaurants, such as Moretto’s Steakhouse and Gasthaus Zoller, can be reached in a few minutes on foot.

The centre of Brunico is about 5 km away, also reachable via the free ski bus that departs from outside the property, particularly useful for those heading to the Plan de Corones ski area. The Bruneck Nord and Bruneck railway stations are about 4 and 4.8 km away respectively, while Bolzano Airport is about 62 km away, a good hour by car. The historic centre of Brunico, with Porta Orientale, is just under 5 km away.

The location is well suited to active stays in any season: in winter the ski bus connects directly to the Plan de Corones ski area, one of the largest in South Tyrol, while in summer the area offers hiking trails and mountain bike routes towards the peaks of Val Pusteria, such as the Fensterlekofel at nearly 3,200 metres.
