Location & what to see

Hotel Des Geneys stands in the centre of Bardonecchia, an alpine town in the Susa Valley at about 1,312 metres above sea level, on a residential street just a few steps from the heart of the town. The surrounding neighbourhood combines alpine-style houses, small shops and traditional eateries, keeping a quiet atmosphere even during the peak ski season months.

Bardonecchia train station is just 300 metres away, convenient for those arriving by train from Turin, while Turin Airport is around 74 km away, a good hour’s drive. The Campo Smith ski slopes are just 800 metres from the hotel, and the direct bus to the Melezet lifts stops 50 metres from the entrance, making a car unnecessary during a ski week. Nearby you’ll also find restaurants such as Caropepe and La Taverna del Dahu, both about 300 metres away.

In winter, the Bardonecchia ski area offers numerous slopes between Campo Smith, Melezet and Jafferau, as well as a snowpark for freestyle skiing. In summer, the area becomes a starting point for excursions to Vanoise National Park, about 5 km away, and for walks to Fort Bramafam, a 19th-century fortification open to visitors 750 metres from the hotel. More experienced hikers can venture as far as Colle d’Eichelle or Sommet du Charra, while Bardonecchia’s town centre offers shops, coffee shops such as La Tazza d’Oro and a lively evening scene all year round.
