Hotel Spagna is located on a quiet street in the centre of Arona, just 150 metres from the Lake Maggiore lakefront and a few dozen metres from the historic Villa Ponti, home to art exhibitions, and from the ophthalmology department of the town hospital. The area retains the character of a lakeside town, with alleys, historic bars and restaurants within a short walk, including Caffè Gradisca, just 50 metres from the property.

Arona railway station is about 650 metres away, a ten-minute walk, and is the main point of reference for those arriving by train. The ferry port with connections to Locarno is about one kilometre away, while Milan Malpensa Airport is about 17 kilometres away, with a shuttle available on request from mid-April to mid-September. By car, Milan is just over an hour away.
