The area is typical of the Tigullio seafront, with Liberty-style buildings, shops and venues facing directly onto the seaside promenade, about 200 metres from the town beach. The neighbourhood is pedestrianised in the streets of the centre and especially lively on summer evenings, when the seafront promenade fills with people and venues.

The central location makes it easy to get around both on foot and by public transport: Chiavari train station is just 250 metres away and connects in a few minutes to Genoa, Sestri Levante and, with a change, to the Cinque Terre. Genoa-Sestri Airport is about 37 km away, while within a few hundred metres there are restaurants such as Vassilissa and La Buga, as well as several bars and coffee shops for an evening aperitivo.
