La Tana del Ghiro is located in Villefranche, a small hamlet in the municipality of Quart, along the main road that runs through the lower Aosta Valley east of Aosta. The position is strategic: both the regional capital and the most scenic side valleys of the alpine region are within easy reach.

The historic centre of Aosta, rich in Roman heritage such as the Arch of Augustus, the Roman Forum and the ancient Roman Walls, is just 8 km away and can also be conveniently reached by the local bus that stops in front of the property every half hour. Just 5 km away stands the Castello di Fénis, one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the Aosta Valley and among the most visited tourist attractions in the region. At approximately 5 km is also the MAV, the Museum of Traditional Aosta Valley Craftsmanship in Nus.

In the winter months the house makes an excellent base for reaching the main Aosta Valley ski resorts, from Courmayeur to Cervinia, as well as Pila and Cogne. In summer, the Aosta Valley offers magnificent hiking and trekking routes. Aosta Airport is approximately 5 km away, while Turin Airport can be reached in about an hour and a quarter by car.
