Location & what to see

Palazzo Cicala occupies a historic building overlooking Piazza San Lorenzo, in the heart of Genoa’s medieval centre, just a few steps from the cathedral that gives the square its name. The area is a maze of alleys, noble palaces and small venues: right below the building are bars such as Fortuna Leonardo, 50 metres away, and casual restaurants like Fruit & Ice Cream Factory and Piadina Divina, both just steps from the entrance.

The central location makes getting around on foot easy: Palazzo Ducale is about 150 metres away, Piazza De Ferrari 250 metres, and the Aquarium of Genoa about 400 metres, as are Palazzo Rosso and Palazzo Doria Tursi, both roughly 400 metres away. The San Giorgio metro station is only 200 metres away, while Genoa-Sestri Airport is about 5-10 km away, reachable by car or shuttle. Even the beaches, such as Punta Vagno, are less than 3 km away.

Guests staying here can take long walks through the caruggi, visit the museums on Via Garibaldi or climb up to Spianata Castelletto for a view over the city and the port, about 550 metres from the property. In summer, the beaches of the Boccadasse area, a bit further away, offer a seaside alternative, while in winter the historic centre with its churches, including San Lorenzo and San Pietro di Banchi, remains the focus of visits. Cycling enthusiasts can also take advantage of the excursions organised by the property to discover Genoa on two wheels.
