Ruster Resort is a 3-star property located in Lagundo, among the mountains of the Merano area, just 2 km from the city’s thermal spa centre. Made up of two buildings, a residence and a restaurant, the resort overlooks orchards and vineyards with views of the Adige Valley and the Alps.
The rooms, spread across the Friedheim and Schönblick buildings, range from more compact singles to suites with a whirlpool tub and private sauna, as well as apartments with a kitchenette designed for longer stays. Many units feature a balcony with mountain views and a scenic pool.
Guests have access to two swimming pools, a seasonal wellness area with a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and whirlpool tub, as well as over 4 km of gardens that can be explored with the free mountain bikes provided by the resort. The Ruster restaurant serves regional cuisine and local wines, alongside a typical South Tyrolean Stube and an outdoor beer garden. The location, just outside the centre of Lagundo and well connected by bus to Merano, is particularly popular with couples looking for a peaceful stay.

The rooms at Ruster Resort are spread across two buildings, Friedheim and Schönblick, and cover a wide range: from compact singles of 12-15 sqm to 80 sqm suites with a whirlpool tub and private sauna. Most accommodations feature a balcony with mountain views, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV and a minibar, while the rooms in the Friedheim building also offer air conditioning.
For longer stays, apartments and studios with a fully equipped kitchenette are available, ideal for those who want more independence. The two Schönblick suites stand out for their pool with a view, whirlpool tub and, in the case of the larger Suite, a private sauna and terrace. The standard double rooms and singles share the same view of the surrounding mountains, while the Deluxe Single Room additionally offers the choice between a single bed or a French double bed.
The largest of the doubles in the Friedheim building, with 34 sqm of space, a balcony with mountain views and air conditioning. Equipped with a flat-screen TV, minibar and private bathroom, it is the most spacious option for those staying in this wing of the property.
A more compact version of the Superior, with 26 air-conditioned sqm and a pool with a view. The private bathroom has a shower, while a balcony and minibar complete a room designed for those seeking a comfortable double without giving up the mountain view.
A self-contained 40 sqm apartment in the Apartmenthouse Ruster building, with a kitchenette for those who want to cook for themselves. The balcony offers views of the surrounding mountains; the end-of-stay cleaning service is not included in the rate.
The largest accommodation at the resort, 80 sqm with a pool with a view, a whirlpool tub and private sauna. Made up of a bedroom, separate living area, bathroom with a walk-in shower and terrace, it also has a full kitchenette with dishwasher.
A 38 sqm junior suite with a pool with a view and a bathroom featuring both a walk-in shower and a bathtub, the only feature of its kind among the Schönblick accommodations of this size. A balcony with mountain views and a minibar complete the unit.
An essential 20 sqm double in the Schönblick building, with a pool with a view, a flat-screen satellite TV and a balcony with panoramic mountain views. A more modest choice compared to the suites in the same building, but with the same view.
The most compact single at the resort, 12 sqm designed for solo travellers. Despite its small size, it offers a balcony with mountain views, a private bathroom and a satellite TV, with the same panoramic view as the larger accommodations.
Slightly larger than the standard Single, with 15 sqm and the choice between a single bed or a French double bed. A balcony with mountain views, a private bathroom and a satellite TV complete this deluxe version.
