Location & what to see

Villa Pecunia is located in the historic centre of Riomaggiore, the easternmost village of the Cinque Terre, perched on a cliff overlooking the Ligurian Sea. The property occupies a typical building on Via Tommaso Signorini, just 350 metres from the village’s small pebble beach and a short walk from the start of the famous Via dell’Amore path connecting Riomaggiore to Manarola. Around the property, guests can experience the authentic atmosphere of the Ligurian carruggi, among colourful houses, staircases and small shops.

Riomaggiore train station is about 50 metres from the property, extremely convenient for visiting the other Cinque Terre villages without needing a car: Manarola can be reached in just a few minutes by train, with Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare a little further along the same line. La Spezia Centrale, with regional connections to Pisa and Genoa, is about 12 km away, while the nearest airport, Pisa Galileo Galilei, is around 69 km away. Just steps from the entrance are also restaurants such as Binariozero, Kepris Pizzeria and Trattoria Via dell’Amore, convenient for dinner after a day of hiking.

Riomaggiore lies within the Cinque Terre National Park, an ideal destination for trekking along the panoramic trails overlooking the sea that connect the five villages, best explored in spring and autumn to avoid the summer heat. In summer, Riomaggiore’s beach and nearby coves, such as Spiaggia del Cantun about 4 km away, are perfect for swimming and water sports, while in winter the village offers a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. From here, it’s easy to dedicate a day to La Spezia, about ten kilometres away, with museums such as the Amedeo Lia Museum and historic sites such as Castello San Giorgio, both about 6-7 km from the property.
