Location & what to see

The hotel is located on Via Martiri della Libertà, in the centre of Alagna Valsesia, a Walser village at 1,191 metres above sea level at the foot of the Piedmont side of Monte Rosa. The area preserves traditional Walser architecture, with wood and stone houses, and is surrounded by larch woods and the peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, including Cima Carnera, which rises to almost 2,741 metres about 2.5 km from the hotel.

The Pianalunga-Cimalegna-Salati cable car, the access point to the Monterosa Ski area, is just 850 metres on foot, while within 150 metres you’ll find several traditional restaurants such as Ristorante Edelweiss, An Bacher Wi and Der Spicher. Those arriving by train can use Gornergrat station, about 19 km away, while the most convenient airport for those travelling by plane is Milan Malpensa, about 110 km away.

In winter the resort is an ideal base for alpine skiing and ski mountaineering on the Monterosa Ski slopes, which connect Alagna to Gressoney and Champoluc, as well as for freeride on the slopes of the Monte Rosa massif. In summer the area becomes a starting point for trekking to alpine huts, walks along the Sesia stream and mountain bike excursions on trails winding between 1,200 and 2,700 metres above sea level. The village also offers small museums dedicated to Walser culture and local craft workshops.
