Rhêmes-Notre-Dame is a small municipality in the Aosta Valley located in the valley of the same name, the Valle di Rhêmes, which opens to the south between the Valsavarenche and Valgrisenche valleys. At an altitude of around 1,720 metres above sea level, the village is made up of several traditional hamlets, including Chanavey, where Arthemisia is located. The hamlet retains the authentic character of Aosta Valley Alpine communities, with rural stone and wood architecture and a pace of life far removed from the bustle of large ski resorts.
The natural surroundings are of extraordinary quality: the valley borders directly on the Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy’s oldest national park, which is home to rich and easily observable wildlife — marmots, ibex and chamois are regular sightings. From the property, guests enjoy a direct view of the Granta Parey and the Grand Combin, while the local ski area allows access to the slopes on foot. In summer the valley transforms into a paradise for hikers, with the Alta Via n. 2 linking Rhêmes to the neighbouring valleys and the Ferrata Casimir attracting climbing enthusiasts.
