Chalet a due passi piste da sci

Nestled in the silence of the Valgrisenche Valley at 1,750 metres altitude, this wood-and-stone chalet is an authentic mountain retreat with a history dating back to 1794, when the building served as the barracks of Commander Jean-François Chamonin. Its location is one of its greatest strengths: access to the Valgrisenche Ski slopes is literally steps away, with the option to rent ski equipment and purchase ski passes directly on site.

The accommodation unfolds across a spacious open-plan ground floor featuring a fully equipped private kitchen — hob, fridge, microwave oven, coffee machine, kettle and utensils — a dining area with a dedicated table, and a living room with a flat-screen TV, plus a romantic mezzanine tucked under the eaves. The private bathroom is fitted with a shower and bidet. Outside, a patio with a barbecue, table and chairs is perfect for summer evenings or sunny days at altitude.

The holiday home is well suited to families — it features safety gates for young children, board games and books for the little ones — and also welcomes pets at no extra charge. Private parking is free and available directly on site. The surrounding area offers hiking trails, cross-country ski runs and a lake.

Location & what to see

Valgrisenche is one of the wildest and most authentic side valleys in the Aosta Valley, nestled among the mountains of the Mont Avic Natural Park and peaks reaching three thousand metres. The valley stretches along the Dora di Valgrisenche torrent and culminates in the artificial lake of the same name, created in the 1950s and still a popular destination for walks and panoramic photography. The village, reachable from Arvier on the Valdigne road, retains a genuine atmosphere far removed from mass tourism.

The chalet is situated at around 1,750 metres altitude, in a privileged position relative to the Valgrisenche Ski slopes — a compact, family-friendly ski area particularly appreciated for the quality of its snow and the tranquillity of its runs. In summer the area transforms into a paradise for hikers: trails of varying difficulty lead to mountain pastures, glacial lakes and panoramic ridges in the Graian Alps. Cross-country ski runs round out the winter offering.

The valley is home to small mountain huts and refreshment stops, while the municipality of Arvier and the city of Aosta are easily reachable by car for more extensive services. The ski-in location and the peace and quiet of the valley make this chalet an ideal base both in winter and in summer.
