Eitch Borromini Palazzo Pamphilj

Eitch Borromini Palazzo Pamphilj is a charming guest house housed in a seventeenth-century building designed by Francesco Borromini, in the heart of Rome just steps from Piazza Navona. The property stands out for its panoramic terrace, which offers a view over Piazza Navona, St. Peter’s Basilica and the Pantheon, a feature few other addresses in the historic centre can offer.

The interiors combine the building’s original features, such as frescoes and wood-beamed ceilings, with elegant and modern furnishings. The air-conditioned rooms and suites, equipped with flat-screen TVs, have private bathrooms with Etro courtesy sets; many room types also offer a city view or a separate living area, up to the Suite Romantica with a whirlpool tub.

In the morning, a generous continental breakfast is served with jams, fresh fruit, cold cuts and baked goods, while the in-house restaurant offers Italian and seafood dishes. The central location allows guests to reach the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori and Castel Sant’Angelo on foot in about ten minutes, making the property a convenient base for exploring the historic centre of Rome.

Location & what to see

The hotel is located inside a historic palazzo on Via di Santa Maria dell’Anima, in the Piazza Navona neighbourhood, one of the most authentic areas of Rome’s historic centre. The area is pedestrianised at its core, full of cafés, gelaterias and restaurants such as Tre Scalini and Hostaria I Fratellini, both just a few metres from the entrance, and Piazza Navona itself is practically right outside the windows of the property.

On foot, some of the city’s most iconic sights can be reached in just a few minutes: Palazzo Braschi is about 200 metres away, Campo de’ Fiori 350 metres, and the Trevi Fountain about 900 metres. Castel Sant’Angelo and St. Peter’s Square are 550 metres and 1.3 km away respectively, while the Roman Forum is around 1.2 km away. For those arriving by train, Roma San Pietro Station is 1.5 km away, and the Spagna and Barberini metro stations are both about 1.5 km away; Ciampino and Fiumicino airports are 13 km and 18 km away respectively.

Staying here means being able to alternate cultural visits and evening strolls without ever going too far: the Pantheon and Piazza della Rotonda are about 350 metres away, ideal for an afternoon stop, while in the evening the area comes alive with bars and small open-air concerts. In summer, the property’s own panoramic terrace becomes a privileged vantage point over the rooftops of the historic centre, while in the cooler months the surrounding squares remain perfectly enjoyable on foot at any time of day.
