The setting is typical of alpine border villages: stone and wood chalets, ski slopes starting practically from the town centre, and a peaceful atmosphere even in the summer months, when tourist traffic shifts towards walks and high-altitude trails.

The Montgenèvre Pass is just 1.2 km away, while Mont Chaberton, standing at 3,131 metres with the remains of an old military fort, is 2.6 km away as the crow flies. Briançon railway station, in France, is about 11 km away and is the most convenient connection for those arriving by train from this alpine side. Sauze d’Oulx and Sestriere, among the best-known ski destinations in the Via Lattea area, are 20 and 22 km away respectively. For those arriving by plane, Turin Airport is about 74 km away, and the property arranges a free shuttle on request.

In winter, the Claviere area is connected to the Via Lattea ski area, with slopes reaching Montgenèvre and Sestriere, as well as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing routes.
