Hotel Ponte Sisto

Hotel Ponte Sisto is a 4-star hotel housed in a former monastery in Rome’s historic centre, 350 metres from Campo de’ Fiori. The building is arranged around a quiet interior courtyard, where a buffet breakfast is served every morning, complemented in warmer months by outdoor tables amid a fountain and palm trees.

The rooms, ranging in size from 15 to 25 square metres, are designed for both solo travellers and families: equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and private bathroom, some feature cherry wood furnishings, marble bathrooms and even whirlpool tubs or small balconies overlooking the interior courtyard.

The reception is staffed 24 hours a day, and the team is happy to arrange excursions around the city. The location, rated 9.7 by guests, allows Piazza Navona, Largo Argentina, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain to be reached on foot, while the Trastevere neighbourhood lies on the opposite bank of the Tiber, just a few minutes’ walk across the bridge that gives the hotel its name.

Hotel Ponte Sisto occupies a former monastery on Via dei Pettinari, in the historic Regola district, just steps from the bridge of the same name that connects the historic centre to Trastevere. The area is a web of alleys, artisan workshops and small restaurants, with Campo de’ Fiori just 250 metres away and its famous daily market.

In the opposite direction, past Largo di Torre Argentina with its archaeological remains at 450 metres, you reach the Imperial Forums and the Colosseum in around 20 minutes. The warmer days are best spent among the shaded courtyards of the historic centre, while in winter the cobbled streets of the Regola district remain among the most charming for an evening stroll towards Castel Sant’Angelo, 1.1 km away.
