Primo Piano Suites

Primo Piano Suites is a guest house housed in a historic building in the heart of Rome, just 50 metres from Piazza Navona and 400 metres from the Pantheon. The property occupies an upper floor accessible only by stairs, a detail that shapes its intimate and secluded atmosphere, typical of the palazzi in Rome’s historic centre.

The rooms, all with private bathroom, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and Nespresso coffee machine, differ in size and view: some overlook the city’s rooftops, others the quieter inner courtyard. A minibar and safe are present in most room types, while the triple room is designed for those travelling in three.

The location is probably the most evident strength, confirmed by a score of 9.9 given by guests: from here, Campo de’ Fiori, Castel Sant’Angelo and the Trevi Fountain are all within walking distance, while St. Peter’s Basilica is less than a kilometre away. It’s a fitting choice for those who want to experience ancient Rome without giving up modern conveniences such as free WiFi and shuttle service on request.

Location & what to see

Primo Piano Suites is located on Via Giuseppe Zanardelli, a stone’s throw from Piazza Navona, in the heart of Rome’s historic centre. This is the area of cobbled alleys, Renaissance palazzi and pedestrian squares that characterise the neighbourhood between the Pantheon and Castel Sant’Angelo: a lively setting from morning to evening, with historic cafés such as Caffè della Pace and restaurants just steps from the entrance.

The property is just 50 metres from Piazza Navona and 400 metres from the Pantheon, while the Pantheon and Piazza della Rotonda can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Castel Sant’Angelo is about 500 metres away, Campo de’ Fiori 550 metres and the Trevi Fountain 850 metres. For those arriving by air, Ciampino Airport is about 13-15 km away and Fiumicino 18-25 km; the Spagna metro station is 1.2 km away. St. Peter’s Basilica is around 900 metres away, also an easy walk along the Tiber.

The location makes it possible to dedicate the stay mainly to cultural visits: museums, historic buildings such as Palazzo Braschi and archaeological sites can be reached without any means of transport. In spring and autumn, evening walks between Piazza Navona and Trastevere are particularly pleasant, while in summer it’s worth taking advantage of the morning hours to avoid the crowds at the main sights of the historic centre.
