Room types

Relais del Portico offers six room types spread across a historic building in the centre of Rome, designed to suit different needs: from the 10 sqm Deluxe Single Room for solo travellers, to the Superior and Deluxe Doubles, up to the larger King Room and the 28 sqm Suite with a separate living room. All accommodations share air conditioning, a private bathroom with toiletries, a flat-screen TV with streaming services and soundproofed walls, a detail not to be taken for granted in a historic building in the heart of the city.

What sets the rooms apart are mainly the size, the view and the bed configuration: some overlook the quiet inner courtyard, others the rooftops and alleys of the Ghetto, while the Suite is the only one with an independent living room with a sofa bed, ideal for families or longer stays. Several rooms are also equipped with a coffee machine or a tea and coffee set, a small plus for breakfast on your own.

Location & what to see

Relais del Portico is located on Via della Reginella, in the Jewish Ghetto district, one of the oldest and most characteristic areas of Rome’s historic centre, with cobbled alleys, artisan workshops and kosher trattorias just steps from the front door. The area retains an intimate atmosphere despite its proximity to tourist hubs such as Largo di Torre Argentina, just 200 metres to the north.

The location is 100% walkable: Piazza Navona is 150 metres away, Campo de’ Fiori 500 metres, and the Pantheon about 700 metres, all reachable without using public transport. For longer trips, Colosseo metro station is 1.2 km away and Cavour station 1.4 km; Rome Ciampino Airport is about 13 km away and Fiumicino Airport 18 km, both connected via the property’s paid shuttle service.

From here, it’s easy to plan days combining the great classical monuments with the more authentic neighbourhoods: the Imperial Forums and the Colosseum are about 1.4 km away, the Trevi Fountain 950 metres, while Trastevere, with its Piazza di Santa Maria, is just over 700 metres away. In the evening, the restaurants and bars of the Ghetto just steps from the property, such as those around Largo di Torre Argentina, offer a quieter alternative to the more touristy areas of the centre, ideal for those visiting Rome both in winter, among museums and indoor strolls, and in summer, when the historic squares come alive late into the night.
